Who can apply?

Although the Adolf-Clarenbach-Haus is a Protestant theological student dorm, all students of other disciplines and faiths are welcome! We also openly welcome all members of the LGBTQIA+-Community! Even if you are not enrolled at Bonn university, but e.g. in Cologne or the Rhein-Sieg district you are welcome to apply to us.

However, there are two things to keep in mind:

1. You must be between 18 and 35 years old.
2. You should be interested in communal living and self-administration, and be willing to take on certain duties in the house. You can find out how this is organised here.

What do I apply for?

Rooms range in size from 10 to 26 square metres and cost between 270€ and 375€ depending on size. It is usually not possible to apply for a specific room. In addition to our rooms and the location of the house, you can also find a few impressions of our rooms below.

How do I apply?

For your application, we need your personal details (address, study subject, desired move-in date, etc.), a photo and a cover letter. You can use this to introduce yourself to us and explain why you would like to move in.

The application form we provide is intended to help you find out what information we need from you. You can also apply informally. The decision about the applicants is made by our elected representatives (the Seniorat) in cooperation with the study inspector. Therefore, your application should reflect your personality and study situation as well as possible.

Checklist for your application:

1. Download application form
2. Open the downloaded form in a common browser (Firefox, Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari) or pdf viewer (Adobe Acrobat Reader) and fill it out.
3. Save the completed form or print it to a PDF file via Print.
4. Select the application photo and insert it, e.g. with PDF-Escape, or add it to the e-mail attachment.
5. Send the application by e-mail or post

When do I apply?

New rooms are allocated on 1st of April and 1st of October each year. However, due to the semester break, we need your application by 15 January or 1 July. (This deadline may vary depending on the corona: The application deadline stated above applies). The selection of applicants will take place within two weeks after the application deadline. Please contact us if you have not received an answer from us within this period.

Please note regarding postal applications: There may be sporadic delays in our postal system. We therefore ask you to contact us at the above-mentioned email address if you have not received a response to an application sent to us by post within two weeks. We also recommend that you only send us applications by email a few days before the application deadline so that they reach us in time.
